Sadly, as can be seen from the below statistics, the reality around abandonment is monumental.

• Around 3500 babies are abandoned annually.
• Only 1 out of every 3 abandoned babies are found alive.
• 65% of abandoned babies are New Borns.
• 90% of abandoned babies are under 1 year old.

There has also been a steady increase in abandonment since the start of lockdown in 2020, where;

• 26 places of safety took in 153 babies of which 88 were abandoned
• Social media news reported, 97 babies were found abondoned in unsafe places, of which only 45 were found alive.
